Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death. While the holiday originated in Mexico, it is celebrated all over Latin America. On Nov. 2 of every year, it is believed that the souls of the dead return to visit their living family members. Many people celebrate this day by visiting the graves of deceased loved ones and setting up altars with their favorite foods, drink and photographs. As in previous years, dance groups will perform and multiple activities for all ages will be available. The event is free and open to the public to attend.
Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: CCC-Grand Island, 3134 W. Highway 34
