GI Home Federal Splits With Pius X
(Grand Island, NE) - Grand Island Home Federal split a pair of games with Pius X Union Bank & Trust on Thursday afternoon at Ryder Park. Game one went to GI 5-3. Grand Island had a 3-0 lead until a three-run home run by Pius X would tie the game up at three all. GI would answer with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead and secure the win.
Game two Grand Island would have a 4-0 lead after two innings. Pius X would then strike for twelve unanswered runs to win game two 12-4. Home Federal is now 24-9 on the season and will be back in action Sunday, July 9th traveling to Lincoln to take on Northstar in a doubleheader at 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
The next broadcast on KRGI 1430/105.5 & krgi.com will be on Wednesday, July 10th as GI will host the Cornhusker League championship game at Ryder Park vs Hastings. First pitch is set for 6:00 pm.
