GICC Basketball Teams Wrap Up Home Holiday Tournament

(Grand Island, NE) - The GICC Crusader basketball teams hosted their annual holiday basketball tournament on Friday, December 29th and Saturday, December 30th. On Friday the GICC girls would win a 49-41 contest over Minden, giving the Whippets their second loss on the season. Saturday GICC would then win the tournament with a 43-32 win over O'Neill St. Marys. The Crusader girls have won 4 in a row since suffering their first loss of the season on December 15th at Lincoln Christian 74-42. GICC is now 9-1 on the season. 

On the boy's side, GICC would fall on Friday to Minden 58-50. Saturday the Crusaders would defeat O'Neill St. Marys 68-33 to snap a four-game skid. The win Saturday was the fourth of the season to go along with wins against Norfolk Catholic, Scotus, and Lincoln Christian. The GICC boys are now 4-6 on the season. 

Both girls' and boys' teams will be back in action for GICC on Friday, January 5th hosting Kearney Catholic then turn around and make a short trip to Doniphan-Trumbull on Saturday, January 6th.
