Hall County Celebrates Manufacturing Month with Student Tours

Grand Island EDC

Grand Island, Neb. — On Wednesday, October 30, approximately 140 Hall County area high school students will have an exclusive opportunity to explore some of the area’s largest manufacturing companies as part of “National Manufacturing Month.”

Manufacturing is a vital part of Grand Island’s economy, offering well-paying and stable careers. The event is designed to showcase the opportunities of the diverse career possibilities in manufacturing, education available for these careers and highlight the benefits of living and working in Hall County.

Students will participate in guided tours with Grand Island manufacturers, including Case New Holland, Chief Industries and Hornady Manufacturing. They will also learn from Central Community College about post-secondary educational opportunities tied to manufacturing careers. These tours will give students a firsthand look at the innovative processes, technology and career opportunities available in the local manufacturing sector.

“Manufacturing is the backbone of innovation and growth, and I encourage our students to embrace the possibilities in front of them during this special day,” Grand Island Mayor Roger Steele said. “These tours are a testament to the incredible potential that lies within the city, as we continue to build a strong workforce for tomorrow. Together, we are forging a brighter future for Grand Island."

The hands-on experience will allow students to ask questions, engage with professionals and learn about the significant role manufacturing plays in driving innovation and growth in the region. The success of this event is a true reflection of how the Grand Island community comes together to invest in the future.
