HUSKERS LEAD BIG TEN SOFTBALL PROGRAMS IN THE CLASSROOM
Nebraska led all Big Ten softball programs with the most Academic All-Big Ten and most Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for the 2023-24 academic year.
The Huskers had 17 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big Ten honors when the conference announced the spring Academic All-Big Ten teams on June 13. Nebraska then had 11 student-athletes earn a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award when the recipients for the 2023-24 academic year were announced on June 25. Four of those 11 recipients – Brooke Andrews, Sydney Gray, Caitlynn Neal and Abbie Squier – earned the award with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
Nebraska not only led the Big Ten but set a school record with its 17 Academic All-Big Ten selections and 11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
