Huskies pick up two home victories over Wildcats.

High School Basketball coverage kicked off Thursday night on Country 96 as St. Paul headed to Aurora to take on the Huskies

On the Girls' side of things, the action got off to a high-scoring pace that saw a 12-12 tie at the end of the first quarter. The Huskies never looked back after outscoring St. Paul 12-6 in the 2nd that gave Aurora a 24-18 halftime lead. The Husky defense stymied the St. Paul offense in the 3rd 7-1 to extend their lead to 31-19 before the teams split a 9-9 4th quarter rounding out the final score at 40-28. With the win Aurora improved to 5-6 while the Cats dropped to 3-8.

Gracie Kelley led the way with 14 points. Gracie Mudloff takes home Runza MVP Honors with 7 Points and a huge block in the 4th quarter.

The Boy's side saw Aurora get off to a 7 point advantage leading 14-7 at the end of 1, then proceeded to take a 14-point lead into the half at 31-17. St Paul made the 3rd quarter a 9 point contest before Aurora took a timeout to cool off the St. Paul offense led by Junior Booker Scheierman who spouted a 10-0 run on his own. Aurora led 47-33 at the end of 3 before outscoring the Cats 13-3 to take a 60-36 victory over the Blue & Gold.

Sam Wells led the Cats with 17 points while Gage Sack took home Runza MVP of the game.

St. Paul returns to action Friday at Sandy Creek on Country 96 and KRGI.com. Pregame coverage is set for 5:45 P.M.
