Nebraska Floodplain Day Coming to Broken Bow

A two-day annual event, Nebraska Floodplain Day, will be held in Broken Bow this year, February 21st and 22nd. Day one will include a Basic Floodplain Management course in the morning and special topics such as grants and map reading in the afternoon. Day 2 will be packed with speakers from Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, Game and Parks, US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Environment and Energy, and others; discussing programs related to, yet separate from, FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program. Day 2 will also include a tabletop exercise dealing with community flooding that was developed using HSEEP. Attendees can attend one or both days. See details on the attached flyer.
