Nebraska State Fair Unveils Community Decorating Contest

The Nebraska State Fair has opened its annual Community Decorating Contest for submissions.

The contest invites local businesses and organizations to showcase their creativity and foster pride in the community. This year, participants are asked to decorate a wooden pallet in line with the 2024 fair theme, “All Roads Lead to Fun”.

Entries will be accepted until July 19, with decorating scheduled for August 8 and 9. The top three submissions and the People’s Choice Award will each receive a prize of 20 gate admission tickets and a rosette ribbon.

With the theme, All Roads Lead to Fun, the 2024 Nebraska State Fair is August 23-September 2 at Fonner Park in Grand Island. The fair has drawn more than 4 million visitors to its home in Grand Island since 2010.
