Nevada Homicide Suspect Arrested in Omaha

AUGUST 19, 2024 (OMAHA, NEB.)  — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested a Nevada homicide suspect and also located over 250 suspected fentanyl pills.

The incident occurred Thursday morning, when an investigator was at a local business in downtown Omaha. The investigator detected the odor of marijuana and observed the subject in possession of marijuana in plain view. As the investigator attempted to contact the subject, the man attempted to flee.

The man tried to throw a small package of pills while fleeing the investigator, but the investigator was able to quickly apprehend the man. The man was positively identified as Samario Williams, 34, of Nevada. Williams had an active warrant in connection with a homicide investigation in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Investigators determined that the package of pills contained 270 suspected fentanyl pills. Williams was lodged in Douglas County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, flight to avoid arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and the warrant. NSP is coordinating with the Las Vegas Police Department for their investigation.
