State Fair adds Los Huracanes Del Norte to Nebraska Lottery Concert Series
The Nebraska State Fair announced Los Huracanes Del Norte has been added to the Nebraska Lottery Concert Series. The multiple Grammy nominated norteño music group fills the Thursday, Aug. 29, slot originally featuring Ramón Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte, who canceled their tour.
“Not only are we excited to have Los Huracanes Del Norte at the 2024 State Fair, we are incredibly thankful they happened to be available on short notice to fill the open slot,” said Jaime Parr, Nebraska State Fair Executive Director. “This is a great solution for our fairgoers who enjoy this genre.”
Los Huracanes Del Norte will perform Thursday, Aug. 29, on the State Fair’s outdoor stage at TD Landing. Tickets are on sale now. A small number of VIP tickets are still available. Tickets are $37 for general admission, $57 for pit and $77 for VIP.
All Ramón Ayala tickets will be honored for Los Huracanes Del Norte. Those who prefer a ticket refund can contact the Nebraska State Fair Box Office by calling (308) 382-1620 or stopping by the Nebraska Building on or before July 17.
Los Huracanes Del Norte are a group distinguished in its genre for their diligence, discipline, humility and love for life. Creators of a distinctive style that has rendered them international fame and an impressive production of 68 albums, five Grammy nominations, winners of the Billboard magazine trophy “la voz,” the prestigious trophy of the Heraldo of Mexico, a star on the walk of fame in Las Vegas and numerous more awards. A pioneer of the northern music genre “norteño” music, Los Huracanes del Norte celebrated 50 years in 2022.
In 2019 the band faced adversity with the unexpected and unfortunate news received by medical professionals diagnosing the leader of Los Huracanes del Norte, Heraclio Garcia, with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer. He stopped touring with the band to undergo the necessary treatments. It was during this time that Jaime Garcia, a talented musician by nature and the third son of Heraclio, left his musical group to join Los Huracanes del Norte to fulfill the role of playing bass in the absence of his father. After a year of cancer treatments, Heraclio triumphantly won his battle against cancer. Today he happily travels with the band again, slowly returning to the limelight and singing on stage where he was deeply missed.
The Nebraska Lottery Series features seven days of high-quality national touring acts, including Christian stars Casting Crowns and Anne Wilson on Sunday, August 25; the Older Nebraskans Day concert featuring the Gatlin Brothers and Lorrie Morgan on Monday, August 26; classic rockers the Little River Band on Tuesday, August 27; country star Riley Green on Wednesday, August 28; Red Dirt stars Turnpike Troubadours with special guests Shane Smith and the Saints on Friday, August 30; and the Saturday night, August 31, series-closing act, Yung Gravy with opening act Tayler Holder.
