Wildcat Wrestling finds success in Wood River

The St. Paul Wildcat Wrestling teams had a good two days in Wood River on Friday and Saturday. First on Friday the Boy's squad took 1st place in the 18 team tournament with an 18.5 lead over 2nd place Aquinas Catholic 210.5-192. St. Paul placed 9 total wrestlers with 4 1st place finishes.

126 - Christian Lemburg 4th
157 - Alex Meinecke 1st
165 - Bryson Thomsen 3rd
175 - Ashton Meinecke 1st
190 - Cody Kuszak 1st
215 - Ryder Anderson 3rd

Alex Meinecke also took home the Barb Dvorak most outstanding wrestler of the tournament.

Then on Saturday, the St. Paul Girls brought home medals from 2 out of their 3 wrestlers including a first place finish from Lauren Sladek while Matti Stepanek took 3rd.

Both teams will be back in action on December 16th as the Boys will be at the Kearney Catholic invite and the girls at Cambridge
