Work will resume on US-30, west of Grand Island

March 6, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will resume March 10 on US-30, west of Grand Island, from mile marker 308.84 to mile marker 312.55, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction of Hastings will resume work on US-30 at Johnstown Road while adding temporary surfacing, and building the temporary crossover at Claude Road. A new 4-lane divided urban highway section will be constructed with 10 inch doweled concrete pavement placed on stabilized subgrade. North Road from Stauss to Reuting will be realigned and constructed with 8 inch doweled concrete pavement. Engelman Road, Stolley Park Road and Husker Hwy intersections with the new US-30 alignment will be reconstructed with 8 inch doweled concrete pavement. Additional work will include culverts, storm sewer, lighting, MSE wall, erosion control and seeding.
Traffic will be maintained on US-30 with temporary traffic controls and signs. Anticipated completion is June 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
